Demandwork does real work for small businesses. You tell us what you need — on the web, by email, or by text — and an agent does the job on a machine we run for you, then hands back the finished files. This policy explains what we collect to make that work, and what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, and your name if you give one. Sign-in is a one-time code sent to your email; we do not store a password.
- Your phone number, if you text us or give it to us so we can text you back.
- The work you ask for — the text of your request, any files you send, and the files the agent produces for you.
- Basic service records — timestamps, task status, and error logs we need to run and debug the service.
How we use it
To do the work you asked for, to deliver the result back to you on the channel you used, to let you follow up on a previous job, and to keep the service running and secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your requests or deliverables to train public models.
Text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Your phone number is used only to run and deliver the work you requested by text. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Who we share it with
Only the vendors required to operate the service, and only for that purpose: our authentication provider, our cloud compute provider, our email provider, and our SMS carrier. We may disclose information if the law requires it. That is the complete list of reasons we share anything.
Where the work runs
Each task runs on a machine created for that job. The machine is destroyed after the job finishes and a short follow-up window elapses. Your deliverables are kept on our servers so you can download them later.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account, tasks, and deliverables until you ask us to delete them. Email work@demand.work and we will delete your account and its data.
Your choices
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted at any time. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP. You can stop email by asking us.
Children
Demandwork is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.
